Modern Mathematics

Simplifying Trig

Is it infinite?

Finding X like this would make exams so much easier!

Expanding brackets - the easy way!

Can mathematics lead to this?

Maths is often seen as the boring subject at school, but there's no reason why it should be.

The images within this article show how some people bored with maths may answer some questions. Could this be modern mathematics?

Some of these are real and are from my maths teacher with what he has found within marking and others are put up.

So are these funny for anyone or just the maths geeks?

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Lee, are you claiming that you got some of these from your own teacher? I recognized these right away, as all but one of these were posted on a blog two months ago and subsequently seeded on Newsvine.

I was told 3 and 4 was from work he'd marked, but obviously not.

    Here's a semi-math equation:

How to prove that too much pleasure is evil.

    Pleasure = money.
Money = Square root of evil
So Pleasure = Square root of evil
Pleasure squared = (Square root of evil) squared = |Evil|

    So Pleasure squared equals evil!!!

    Alright, so it's lame.

After sitting through double maths on a couple of days, I often feel like number 5!
